Visit to the Sagar Upwan

A Garden that was a dumping ground once is maintained more esthetically than any other! Not just because it lies hugging the seashore but also because its on the most elite part of the island city. A botanical garden so beautiful that it attracts most of the newbie photographers and it bets that any shot will earn you applause. Simply gaze by the path and be jolted by every other flora and fauna. Here are some pictures I took.

Orange Peel Mask

Its been a month now that I have been applying a home made dry orange peel mask to my facial skin and it glows like never before. At times I feel baby soft. Many times when I have to go out on a date or I have a party to attend all I do is apply this mask for 20-30 mins. Even If I remove it quickly after 10 mins, as it dries, it gives me a lustrous shine. It has reduced blemishes and acne which gives me a flawless look. Also I had patchy dry areas on my face that have been equalized. Here's my ingredients: 1 teaspoon of dry orange peel 4 drops of lemon juice 1 and a half teaspoon of yogurt/curd I prefer sour curd as it has more acidic property to remove dead layer of skin. I don't know if there are products in the market complimenting this but I like to use things I have in my kitchen. It is easy to make orange peel powder. All you have to do is have the sweet fruit and put the peel for drying. In a week you will see them rust pale and dry. Grind them finely in a mixtur...

Togetherness v/s Loneliness

Everyone here wants to be happy. If we think over carefully, what makes us happy or when were we happy the most, we will realize that most of the time we are happy spending time with someone close.  Loneliness is something like an addictive drug that is going to eat you till your death bed. Whereas, togetherness is something that will make each moment memorable and worth living. I happen to see an old couple daily… they are strange. Their clothes are little weary and they seem to be alone. They visit nearly all kind of shrines in the suburb. I judge this because they have that tilak on their forehead and I have seen them near temples in my locality. They carry fruits to offer at the temple. I was happy to see them having that thoughtfulness. So many rich people of my locality that i know visit the temple i go daily but they never seem to carry any offerings. And this old poor looking couple do that.  Once I overheard their conversation and its so much carin...

Why veg food is better than non-veg?

Blogging after a long time.. This time I want to share my thoughts on eating habits and its effects. I have been attending a session named "Perfecting Youth" given by a monk named "Udayvallabh Maharaj".  Lately he spoke on boycott of non-veg food. But to convince a young educated crowd like us... is bit difficult! Following are the points covered:

Futile

Struck by a lightening, Frozen by the light, A light that showed her truth, in the bewildered dark night. That night it burned, the feathers of a flying bird, Left it alone in her world, with no choice but to wait unheard, Her wound got reverse healing, and the pain made her numb, She had to wait patiently sealing, a bitter truth, that broke her into crumb. She had feared the journey, but headed bravely, To make a fiction turn truth; Ohh she failed badly, and couldn't fulfil sadly, The dream she saw in her youth. The journey of despair seems so long, Though useless, she aims to get along; And reach the destination to relish others celebrate, Coz achievement is with whom, she never had a date!

Colaba Circuit with my best friend

As a child I was always excited to visit Town (the southern part of Mumbai as they say) for every other vacation. This is the place my mother's parents stayed. I was mesmerized by the Gothic style buildings and the tall ceiling rooms. There are more heritage buildings here, than any other part of the country. So I decided to take M on the "Colaba Circuit" (I like to call it that way!) If you went on a vacation to some foreign country what would you like to see?... All the beautiful architechure, museum, restaurants, the market places and other sceneries.. right? I am sure very few of us have seen this part of their very own place, Mumbai.

Science & Importance of Rangoli

Diwali is incomplete without the pujas, the lighting, the socializing, delicacies and the Rangoli. Rangoli, the colourful handmade carpets are so much welcoming at the entrance! The colors are all bright and the surrounding diyas make it more lively. The patterns are made up of flowers or natural colors mixed in rice flour, grains, saw dust, chalk powder, colored stones, and even fabric! The custom of making a Rangoli during auspicious day has got some scientific purpose. Scientists say that Warm colors produce centrifugal action where energy flows outward therefore warm colors make people cheerful, extrovert and active. It denotes Joy, happiness & enthusiasm. They are made to soothe the guests and sustain a jolly mood. The patterns made in them symbolises growth and prosperity. Each of these characters speak of numerous things, having deep meanings and significations like the swastika is actually a sign of luck and fortune. Many books have been written on the...
