Solved My First Rubik's Cube

The famous 1980s invention of the award winning game.... Rubik's cube kept me amazing for a long time. My husband got me this puzzle on my request. He was actually looted by the shop keeper. Its not like the original one that has specific colors on each side. It is bit hard to handle because its made up of cheap plastic. But I enjoyed the challenge. And Here is the picture of my first solved Rubik's cube.

I followed some algorithm that I learnt from a youtube video. I am not a genius with numbers but I can surely solve this puzzle again in another 10 minutes. I read there is a record 67 sec solving of this cube.
Also seen a video where a person can solve with eyes closed.

An Ideal School System

Reading Raghu's Rearview made me realize why kids dread school so much and why i still don't like to recollect my school days. What I don't get is the attitude of parents in-general. Why do they on the first place want their piece of heart to go through such bad upbringing. In Raghu's words, School is mediocrity and uniformity at its worst... when all parents want is the opposite of that. I get anxious on the thought of sending my kid to any school... which is why homeschooling excites me. Is it my fear or something else? I don't know! All I know is i would send my child without any delay to a place where he genuinely learned and enjoyed learning. Where he finds that being of use to anyone is the only creditability to have something learned and providing value to the society can be an ultimate goal. Screw Exams. How perfect would it be to have questions from the student himself and he tried to figure of the answer! Ideally It should be the student passing ...

Visit to the Sagar Upwan

A Garden that was a dumping ground once is maintained more esthetically than any other! Not just because it lies hugging the seashore but also because its on the most elite part of the island city. A botanical garden so beautiful that it attracts most of the newbie photographers and it bets that any shot will earn you applause. Simply gaze by the path and be jolted by every other flora and fauna. Here are some pictures I took.

Colaba Circuit with my best friend

As a child I was always excited to visit Town (the southern part of Mumbai as they say) for every other vacation. This is the place my mother's parents stayed. I was mesmerized by the Gothic style buildings and the tall ceiling rooms. There are more heritage buildings here, than any other part of the country. So I decided to take M on the "Colaba Circuit" (I like to call it that way!) If you went on a vacation to some foreign country what would you like to see?... All the beautiful architechure, museum, restaurants, the market places and other sceneries.. right? I am sure very few of us have seen this part of their very own place, Mumbai.
